There’s a common misconception that whenever someone takes up a daily yoga practices they immediately stop taking care of what’s on the outside and only focus on their personal inward journey. Yogi’s are suppose to quieten their egos but this doesn’t mean you have to stop caring about your physical appearance. Yoga will make you feel great on the inside, a great diet will make you feel great on the inside and out, and then an amazing skincare routine will make you look and feel great on the outside. You only have one face, you should take care of it.
It doesn’t make you a bad person for taking care of the aesthetics. It actual makes you a very responsible person, after all, the skins the largest organ and therefore you need to look after it. Inside and out!
Perhaps a yogi’s skincare regime is a little different to the non-yogi. I am obsessed with skincare but I’m also very aware of products and the environment. I use organic where possible and never (to my knowledge) use something that has been tested on animals, seriously, there is no need. Just stop buying those products.
I’m going to share a few of my favourite products over the next couple of days (because I love so many). I just wanted to start the ball rolling for the next few posts by saying nothing, I repeat nothing (!) you put on your skin will have as good an effect as a great diet. Everything you put into your body will show on your face, there is no escaping that. So my first bit of advice for you, dear reader, is to drink a juice. Every. Damn. Day.
Stay tuned for the next post on store bought, skin friendly beauty.
