Juicing For Health

March 8, 2015 • By

I have been juicing daily for 3 months now. Just recently I watched an amazing documentary about juicing for health.

I started juicing to keep myself fit and healthy and to make sure I liked what I saw when I stepped on the scales (eek!). What I didn’t think would change so quickly is the condition of my skin, hello brightness! The length and strength of my hair, I swear it grows faster now. And also how much easier it has become to get out of bed in the morning, seriously, I love being asleep so springing out of bed at 6:30am is a miracle.

Aside from vanity, juicing is also proven to help improve a multitude of chronic disease and will help you lead a healthier lifestyle.

But what if you hate fruit and veg? Luckily my diet is quite healthy, although I have a huge sweet tooth (still trying to cure). So all the juices I make have to have some sweetness. I usually make a 3 to 1 ratio of veg to fruit. The fruit adds the sweetness. This makes it a lot more palatable for first time juicers.

Todays juice is:

– 1 generous handful of kale
– 5 slices of cucumber
– 1 whole carrot
– 1 pear
– 1 tsp wheatgrass power

As well as being amazingly good for you wheatgrass also makes juices really sweet. Some benefits to wheatgrass:

– Detoxifies the body
– Neutralises toxins
– Cleanses the liver
– Calms irritated skin problems
– Prevents tooth decay
– Alkalises the body

Green Juice

I can’t actually think of any negatives to juicing? Can you?
